It was a really dumb deal. I bought two Gens batteries to use in a 6s config in our Kraton. One batterry had a bad balance lead, so Horizon sent me a replacement, but didn't bother to tell me it was a different battery, with a different connector. I complained about being shipped the wrong battery, and Horizon replied and said that was because the original model was discontinued right after I bought it. So they offered to send me a Spektrum battery for my trouble. They may as well have sent me a paper weight because that's all it is at this point.
Maybe Supra to Sentra is being to kind. Since the Sentra actually sold quite well? That's insulting that HH supplied a Spekulum to replace a Gens, which was bought as a pair none the less?! Uh, yeah, we'll warranty it with a Spekulum battery that no one wants to buy at triple the price it's worth.🥴🤣 and folks complain of TRX, as if HH is really any different? LOL I'm not flaming HH or TRX, just that they both exist for profit and seemingly will stop at nothing to get it..

I have actually had really good experience for the most part with Horizon support. But yeah, this was a head scratcher. I can't really complain because they did send me this for free as a winner of their Summer of Fun sweepstakes a few years ago.

For sure that's what I meant, that it's a waste of money because they are so expensive. I don't believe they're bad.

Since you have a Lasernut 1/10. What is the max battery length for it? Is at also 140mm? I am interested in the 1/10 Lasernut as well. It's on sale too. If I get the cheaper Lasernut then I can can afford a Rlaarlo 787 as well wich I wanted for a while.
I'll have to measure it. Ironically, I've been running a Spektrum hard shell 4s 5.0a G1 dumb battery in it all along. It fits easily, I'd guess the 1/10 Nut might fit a small 6s even, say 4.0a? I'll get you some measurements later today, after work.
Funny story, about a year or so ago, HH put the Spektrum "8s Power Pack", or whatever they call it on sale for $199. S2100 dual "smart" charger w/ 2x4s 5.0a G1 "smart" batteries. I told my brother about it, but was too broke(and smart) to buy one for meself. Well he suprised me by buying 2 and gifting one of the power packs to me. Cool, awesome, thanks bro!!😁
Fast forward about a month or two, the S2100 gave up a channel, lights up, registers.. no function from that channel.. so, the batteries are "okay", not great, and thankfully since they're G1 and not G2, they have a standard balance connector. So, I'm able to charge them on a standard charger at least. The G2 Spektrums are what I call "dumb" since they cannot be charged on anything other than a Spektrum smart charger. That's dumb IMO.

Anything proprietary as far as electronics in RC is dumb. But they catch new people that way. Get em a kit, a charger, and batteries that all work together, and now they feel stuck buying their batteries. Kinda shady if ya really think about it.

I am sure there are plenty of batteries that will fit in this new Lasernut. Nothing a Dremel can't fix.
